Festive season road safety | Police clamp down as travel peaks

JOHANNESBURG - Law enforcement authorities say alcohol abuse remains the number one cause of road deaths in the country.

Authorities are clamping down on the country’s roads as fatalities continue to soar.

Over 500 hundred people have died on the country's road since 1 December, most of them in Gauteng.

Motorists are being urged to obey the rules of the road or face the full might of the law.

Police have warned that lawlessness will not be tolerated.
