JOHANNESBURG - Five more senior SAPS officers have been suspended in connection with the controversial Medicare24 contract.
They include four generals and a senior member.
Police Portfolio Committee chairperson Ian Cameron says this is a necessary step to achieve accountability.
Several senior officials have been placed on suspension, while others have been criminally charged for their alleged roles in the multi-million rand contract.
Despite raising concerns over a leadership vacuum, Cameron is calling for swift prosecutions.
