KOMANI - A food scare at the Ekuphumleni Matric Revision Centre has left dozens of pupils ill.
Thirty-nine matric pupils were taken to Hewu Hospital in the Eastern Cape on Sunday evening after falling sick.
They reported vomiting and stomach cramps shortly after eating supper at around 6pm.
Thirty-seven were discharged on Sunday, while two remained under observation and were released on Monday.
The group forms part of 194 matric pupils attending a revision programme in the Chris Hani East Education District.
Health officials have collected food samples for testing and are awaiting laboratory results.
