BLOEMFONTEIN - Farmers in the Free State are worried about foot and mouth disease decimating their livestock and earnings.
Until early July, the Free State had managed to remain disease-free, while the rest of the country battled to contain foot and mouth disease.

But now the province is scrambling to save agriculture, the backbone of its economy and jobs market.
Agriculture authorities are urging farmers to report cases as early as possible.
