JOHANNESBURG - The Special Investigating Unit has secured a preservation order freezing two luxury properties linked to former PRASA CEO Lucky Montana.
The move forms part of the SIU's ongoing efforts to recover assets allegedly acquired through corruption.
Its investigation has uncovered a money trail linking the properties to PRASA's controversial R5.6 billion Integrated Security Access Management System tender.
That contract was awarded to Siyangena Technologies.
The two properties are in Hurlingham, Johannesburg, and Waterkloof, Pretoria. Combined, they are worth nearly R16 million.
The Special Tribunal has prohibited Montana from selling, transferring, leasing or otherwise dealing with the properties while the SIU's civil recovery proceedings are underway.
