Former RAF CEO a no-show despite SCOPA summons

JOHANNESBURG - Former Road Accident Fund CEO Collins Letsoalo has failed to appear before Parliament's inquiry into the RAF.

ActionSA is now calling for Letsoalo's criminal prosecution after he refused to comply with a lawful summons from SCOPA.

The party says his defiance should be viewed as an attack on Parliament’s authority.

SCOPA is investigating serious financial mismanagement, bullying, and questionable decisions made under his leadership at the RAF.

Letsoalo was expected to provide crucial testimony related to the cancellation of the attorneys' panel, irregular appointments, disputed spending, and the Auditor-General conflict, among others.

ActionSA wants the Speaker to refer his non-compliance for prosecution under the Powers and Privileges Act, arguing that Parliament must enforce accountability to protect the integrity of its oversight role.
