JOHANNESBURG - Former South African ambassador to the United States, Franklin Sonn has died at the age of 86.
Dr Sonn is being hailed as a giant of South Africa, a transformative educator, and the country’s first democratic Ambassador to the United States.
Widely respected for his integrity, leadership and lifelong service to the people, Dr Sonn is being remembered for opening doors in education, empowering communities, and challenging the apartheid system that sought to limit black potential.
The ANC says his legacy will continue to guide the fight for a more just and equitable society.
