JOHANNESBURG - Former SARS Commissioner Oupa Magashula has died after a long illness and an extended period of hospitalisation.
Magashula held several roles in both the private and public sectors, including senior roles at Telkom and South African Breweries.
He was later appointed commissioner of the South African Revenue Service.
In a statement, his family says he will be remembered for his humility, warmth and unwavering commitment to South Africa and its people.
Funeral details for the 63-year-old will be communicated in due course.
