Four arrested for driver’s licence fraud

THOHOYANDOU - Police in Limpopo have arrested four suspects involved in a cash-for-driver’s licence scheme.

The group had allegedly been operating at the Marble Hall Licence Testing Centre in Limpopo.

The syndicate is alleged to have fast-tracked bulk transactions involving between 20 and 30 learner licences at a time, bypassing lawful licensing procedures.

One suspect was found in possession of several learner’s licences.

Two cashiers, 63-year-old and 53-year-old women, were found with cash.

They face charges of fraud, corruption and contravention of the Cyber Act for tampering with the eNatis system.
