DURBAN - A four-storey temple has collapsed at River Range Ranch in Durban.
Those trapped under the rubble are communicating via voice notes.
Emergency teams are working to rescue survivors.
Rescuers say the building's design is making the operation tough.
Prem Balram, spokesperson for Reaction Unit South Africa said, "So we made our way to river range ranch here in Verulam. We found that four storeys of the building had collapsed onto a temple."
"There was construction being done above this temple."
"It's going to be extremely difficult. There are people coordinating as we speak. But there is a lot of steel that has been placed above concrete floors."
"It's going to be hard because we are on the side of a cliff. That might make it more difficult for rescue workers," he explained.
