G20 foreign ministers meet in Joburg

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa will open the G20 Foreign Ministers Meeting in Johannesburg on Thursday.

It's being held under South Africa's G20 Presidency theme of Solidarity, Equality, and Sustainability.

It's part of a series of ministerial gatherings leading up to the G20 leaders summit in November.

Delegates are expected to discuss current global geopolitical dynamics.

The meeting comes amid strained relations between Pretoria and Washington.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has indicated he will not attend while the EU has confirmed its participation.
