JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng Education Department says it is under significant pressure to accommodate the growing number of pupils in the province.
It’s calling on municipalities to consider the necessity for additional schools when approving development proposals.

In addressing this situation, the department has had to reprioritise its allocated budget and intends to build more satellite schools.
Thursday marked the final day for parents to submit late applications for Grades 1 and 8.
