JOHANNESBURG - The latest crime stats show that almost 11,000 rape cases were reported in the first three months of this year.
Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal make up nearly 40 percent of these cases.
But activists say the real number is far worse, with most survivors still suffering in silence.
As the government rolls out a 90-day blitz, calls are growing louder for justice and prevention, not just support.
"We need a lot more than talking, we do need real action happening everywhere," said Lebogang Motau, GBV activist and CEO of the Free World Initiative.
