Godongwana, Motsoaledi to visit Charlotte Maxeke Hospital

JOHANNESBURG - The health and finance ministers Enoch Godongwana and Aatron Motsoaledi will on Tuesday visit Charlotte Maxeke Hospital.

They will assess repair work after a damning Public Protector report.

It comes amid concerns over a R1.7 billion funding shortfall, required to finish repairs over five years.

The Public Protector found major delays in repair work after the April 2021 fire.

She found that only half of the R666-million allocated for initial repairs was actually spent.

The findings have now been escalated to the Auditor-General.
