JOHANNESBURG - Government is moving to strengthen its fight against gender-based violence and femicide.
On Monday, Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga will give an update on progress in establishing the National Council on GBV and Femicide.

The update is expected to cover the Council’s funding, governance and ability to coordinate the country’s response.
The question now is whether the Council can turn government’s promises into meaningful action for those most at risk.
