Gwarube to release interim report on matric exam breach

PRETORIA - Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube will release the interim report into the matric exam breach.

The leak of three papers and marking guidelines was traced to an Education Department employee in Pretoria.

The Department appointed a National Investigative Task Team to probe the matter.

Gwarube will outline the findings and recommendations to strengthen examination security.

A total of 26 pupils in seven schools benefited from the leak.

Two officials were suspended, with one identified as a parent of a matric pupil.
