Hammanskraal water crisis | Delays fuel residents' anger

HAMMANSKRAAL - Tensions are boiling over as residents demand answers after yet another missed deadline to see clean and safe water come out of their taps.

Water and Sanitation Minister Pemmy Majodina and Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya promised delivery of Phase 2 of the Klipdrift water treatment plant within three weeks.

But frustrated residents are growing impatient with broken promises and missed deadlines.

In 2023, Hammanskraal was the epicentre of a cholera outbreak. Now, residents are warned not to drink the water until it's declared safe.

This long-suffering community can see the finishing line, and are getting increasingly unhappy about the delays.

And until they see clean water flowing from their taps, promises mean very little at this stage.
