JOHANNESBURG – The Department of Health has debunked false claims that HIV positive people will receive a R1,200 grant from May 2026.
In a statement, the department said the claims were false and misleading.
“The public is therefore advised to always fact-check or verify information received through social media, with reliable and credible sources before sharing,” the department said in a statement.
It added: “People living with HIV are urged to ignore this face news but to continue to take lifesaving treatment available freely in public facilities to live longer and healthier.”
