JOHANNESBURG - Top police and government leaders are expected to meet on Tuesday night to receive a detailed briefing on the investigation into the discovery of seven women's bodies in Ekurhuleni.
The high-level delegation includes Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia, Women Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga, Deputy Police Minister Polly Boshielo, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi and Acting National Police Commissioner Puleng Dimpane.
The meeting will be held at the SAPS Gauteng Provincial Office in Parktown.
The seventh body, which was previously discovered on 7 September, was added to the investigation into the deaths of women in Ekurhuleni.
The body of the woman was discovered floating in a river in Clayville, near the Mall of Tembisa.

Reports of this discovery followed hours after police discovered a sixth woman’s body, believed to be that of a woman in her 30s, on the side of the road in KwaThema, Springs, on Tuesday morning.
The body was in an advanced state of decomposition.
Police have urged the public to be patient as investigators work to establish whether a single suspect or multiple perpetrators are behind a series of women’s deaths in Ekurhuleni.
SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said investigators are still analysing the evidence and victim profiles before concluding possible links between the cases.
