JOHANNESBURG - Crime Intelligence officer Colonel Ismail Dawood has handed himself over at the Hillbrow police station.
Dawood initially presented himself at the Sandton Police Station on Monday but was later redirected to Hillbrow.
However, there was confusion over his arrest warrant and where he was meant to surrender. He was then instructed to return on Tuesday.
Investigators say a paperwork blunder led to the delay.
Dawood faces charges of intimidation and extortion involving approximately R3.5 million.
He is expected to appear at the Johannesburg Magistrate's court on Tuesday morning.
