KEMPTON PARK - Acting Gauteng Police Commissioner Fred Kekana said investigators have found some similarities, but there's no evidence yet that the cases involve one perpetrator.
Four women were found dead, partially clothed, with visible bruising and their bodies were discovered in the same general area around Rhodesfield.
Police have formed a task team to investigate the deaths.
"While there are similarities in some of the circumstances surrounding the cases, it will be premature at this stage to conclude that the four cases are linked or that they involve one perpetrator."
Meanwhile, the family missing Kempton Park runner Elizabeth Moselakgomo is waiting to find out whether an unidentified body found in the area is hers.
Moselakgomo disappeared on Wednesday after going for her usual evening run in Rhodesfield.
Family spokesperson Dawn Gouden asked members of the public not to share unverified information.
“On Saturday the body of an unidentified female was located in the vicinity of York Street. Due to the injuries caused and being late at night the family members of Elizabeth could not identify the body.
“The female's body was later taken to the state mortuary of which on Monday the family of Elizabeth and other family members would proceed to identify the body.
We humbly ask that the public refrain from any unverified and unconfirmed information,” Gouden said.
