Jeffreys Bay residents blame political games for housing delays

JEFFREYS BAY - Residents of Jeffreys Bay claim politics is hindering progress on their long-awaited homes.

They've been waiting for 1,500 houses since 2009, but the project remains incomplete.

They allege this is due to their municipality being led by the DA, while the provincial government is ANC.

The controversy started when the Human Settlements MEC handed over 28 houses, leaving some top-listed applicants out.

The residents have since marched to the Kouga municipality demanding answers.
