JOHANNESBURG - A building has been evacuated following a fire in Plein Street in Johannesburg CBD on Friday morning.
It's believed the blaze was caused by a transformer blast near the building.
Firefighters have been working around the clock to extinguish the fire since the early hours of Friday morning.
Joburg Emergency Services and police are on the scene. No fatalities have been reported.
Motorists have been urged to avoid the area.
Joburg Mayor Dada Morero said firefighters at the scene had managed to contain the fire.
An investigation into the cause of the fire will be initiated.
