JOHANNESBURG - The City of Johannesburg is intensifying its crackdown on defaulting customers, as part of its revenue collection drive.
On Wednesday morning, Mayor Dada Morero and other officials lead raids on properties that have not paying for services.
The City is targeting customers with unpaid accounts and has been cutting off defaulting customers. These include government departments and state-owned entities.
Floyd Brink, Joburg City Manager said Wednesday's operation was targeting approximately R200 million in outstanding municipal debt owed to the City.
Twelve buildings all owing between R10 and R11 million in the Johannesburg CBD were targeted as part of the operation.

The metro says the campaign forms part of its broader strategy to ensure continued quality service delivery to all residents.
