Joburg mayor faces no-confidence motion

JOHANNESBURG - There's yet another attempt to topple Joburg Executive Mayor, Dada Morero.

Minority parties in the council have tabled a motion of no confidence against the mayor.

They cite a lack of service delivery and failure to consult coalition partners when making key decisions.

While the council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, the motion may be pushed up or entertained only tomorrow if political parties are still lobbying each other.

The United Democratic Movement, African Independent Congress and Al-Jama-ah are leading efforts to unseat the mayor.

Morero survived a similar motion in June this year.
