JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg Water has issued a critical update regarding the ongoing water crisis.
The utility warns that the Commando System, which supplies several suburbs, is under severe strain due to rising demand and ageing infrastructure.

The Crosby reservoir is still supplying water, but at lower levels, and is currently being used to support Brixton and Hursthill.
Pumping at the Brixton reservoir is declining, with low pressure, to no water, for the high-lying areas.
The Hursthill one reservoir remains on bypass for leak repairs, while Hursthill 2 shows some improvement, demand remains high.
