JSC recommends Ledwaba for Gauteng judge president

JOHANNESBURG - The Judicial Service Commission has recommended Aubrey Ledwaba for appointment as the next Gauteng Judge President.

Ledwaba's name is now set to be forwarded to President Cyril Ramaphosa for final decision.

This follows the JSC’s interview process to fill key positions in the superior courts.

Ledwaba was the only shortlisted candidate for the Gauteng judge president post.

Meanwhile, Ledwaba says he's willing to testify at the Madlanga Commission if called to do so.

He has been implicated at the commission for allegedly receiving a bribe of over R2-million to release alleged crime boss, Katiso KT Molefe, on bail.

Ledwaba has, however, denied the claims, saying he's ready to clear his name.
