JOHANNESBURG - Controversial media personality Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye’s firearm-related case has been postponed to 17 September.

Maarohanye made a brief appearance at the Germiston Magistrates’ Court on Monday, following his failure to appear at an earlier court hearing.

The TV host is facing charges relating to an alleged incident involving an e-hailing driver in Edenvale on 14 June.

Maarohanye has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit an offence, as well as pointing an object that could cause someone to believe it was a real firearm.

The charges stem from allegations that an object resembling a firearm was used during the incident.

Maarohanye has denied the allegations, describing the charges as fabricated.
