JOHANNESBURG – The Office of the Chief Justice has placed Eastern Cape Judge President Selby Mbenenge on special leave.
He will be off the bench until the Judicial Service Commission considers the outcome of his tribunal.
Mbenenge faced a misconduct investigation based on sexual harassment allegations against him.
He was found guilty of misconduct but was cleared of gross misconduct and sexual harassment charges.
The JSC will meet to consider the tribunal's report on the 5th of March.
