Julius Malema vows to appeal conviction

EAST LONDON - Guilty as charged.

That's the verdict of the East London magistrate's court in convicting EFF leader Julius Malema on all five charges he was facing.

These include reckless endangerment of discharging a firearm in public.

Malema told his supporters gathered outside court that he will appeal, accusing the magistrate of racism and appeasing AfriForum, the complainant in the case.

His co-accused and former bodyguard Adriaan Snyman has been acquitted.
