JOHANNESBURG - Suspended Deputy Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi has been fired.
Mkhwanazi had been on suspension since November 11, 2025.
He is currently behind bars after he was denied bail earlier this week.
He and five other co-accused have been denied bail.
He is facing murder, robbery and defeating the ends of justice charges in connection with the killing of businessman Emmanuel Mbense.
Mbense was allegedly killed at his Brakpan home before his body was dumped at a dam near Nigel in April 2022.
Mkhwanazi is also facing multiple criminal matters for which he had been granted bail.
He has also been implicated at the Madlanga Commission.
