CAPE TOWN - The three people convicted of kidnapping and trafficking Joshlin Smith have entered the third week of their life sentences.
But Kelly Smith, Jacquen Appollis and Steveno van Rhyn still maintain their innocence, and their lawyers have filed applications for leave to appeal their convictions and sentences.
Meanwhile, the State's star witness, Lourentia Lombaard, who was initially an accused, still needs to be dealt with.

An inquiry is expected to determine whether she should be granted indemnity for the role she played in Joshlin’s disappearance.
Should Lombaard not be granted indemnity, her case will be referred back to the Director of Public Prosecutions for consideration.
