PRETORIA - The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial finally resumed on Monday, but not quite as expected.
Advocate Charles Mnisi, the new lawyer for accused number 1, Muzi Sibiya, began his cross-examination, not on Sibiya's behalf, but for his other client, accused number 3, Mthobisi Mncube.
Mnisi took over Sibiya’s defence in January after his previous lawyer, Thulani Mngomezulu, died.
His focus was mostly on DNA evidence linking Mncube to the crime.
The trial continues on Tuesday.
