JOHANNESBURG - Once an underground freedom fighter and intelligence operative, he went on to become a pivotal figure in the post-democratic dispensation.
Like many former Cabinet ministers in the security and justice cluster, former intelligence minister Ronnie Kasrils denies any role in suppressing TRC case prosecutions.
He has also denied any involvement in alleged secret talks with former apartheid army and police generals about possible amnesty for crimes committed under the regime.
Kasrils has been testifying before the TRC Cases Inquiry, known as the Khampepe Commission, in Johannesburg.
Another former Cabinet minister, Charles Nqakula, is expected to testify at the Commission on Friday.
