DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal authorities are on high alert as the province braces for a potentially devastating summer.
The SA Weather Service has warned of above-average rainfall, significantly increasing the risk of widespread flooding.
A Level 4 weather warning has already been issued for parts of the province this week, with the threat of thunderstorms, strong winds, and torrential downpours.
These conditions, which have historically led to loss of life and extensive damage to infrastructure and property in KZN, are expected to be a recurring feature of the coming season.
