DURBAN - The KwaZulu-Natal government will give an update on the foot-and-mouth disease outbreak on Friday.
Premier Thami Ntuli and Agriculture MEC Thembeni KaMadlopha Mthethwa will lead the briefing in Durban.
The province is one of the hardest hit by the outbreak.
It has affected all districts and resulted in severe disruption to animal movement and trade.
There have been mounting calls to declare the outbreak a national state of disaster. The provincial government has made an application for a disaster declaration.
