DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal officials are urging communities to be careful when using open fires for light and heat.
It's believed an unattended candle sparked a blaze at the Kennedy Road informal settlement in Durban.
A woman and a 19-month-old child died in the fire, and over 120 structures were destroyed.
