PIETERMARITZBURG - Suspended KwaZulu-Natal Correctional Services Commissioner Mnikelwa Nxele is expected to appear in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate's Court on charges of fraud and money laundering.
The charges relate to allegations spanning the period between 2004 and 2023.
Nxele has been at the centre of public attention recently with allegations of corruption in the department.
He says he was suspended after he raised concerns about irregularities in food procurement, claiming prices were massively inflated.
