MTHATHA - Mzwanele Nyhontso says that traditional leaders have the power to improve the lives of the people they lead.
The Land Reform and Rural Development Minister believes Abathembu King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo is setting a good example by his willingness to provide a site where the government can build homes for people who've been displaced by the floods.
Nyhontso met with the Monarch after being invited to his Enkululekweni Residence in Mthatha.
The minister has been on a mission to secure land parcels for displaced flood victims in the Eastern Cape.
Nhyontso is also calling on more traditional leaders in the area to lead by example. Ronald Masinda reports.
Last month's devastating floods claimed 103 lives in the Eastern Cape, displacing thousands of people.
The government, therefore, needs more collaboration from various stakeholders to help those still needing to be relocated.
