Law enforcement officials in court for bail over extortion allegations

JOHANNESBURG - Nine law enforcement officials accused of extortion and corruption are back in court for a bail application.

The group includes six JMPD officers, two SAPS members, and one Gauteng Traffic warden.

The Hawks' Serious Corruption Investigation unit arrested them last week.

They are alleged to have extorted a Crown Mines business owner.

They apparently found expired hair dye in a warehouse and threatened to arrest the owner unless he paid a bribe.
