BOKSBURG - Suspended EMPD deputy chief Julius Mkhwanazi has once again been granted bail.
Mkhwanazi faces an escalating legal squeeze.
In a newer matter, Mkhwanazi, alongside his ex-lover known as Witness K, have each been granted bail of R5,000.
Their case has been postponed to 25 August for further investigation.

The pair face charges including robbery with aggravating circumstances and fraud linked to the alleged theft of R14.9 million worth of precious stones in Killarney.
Witness K admitted to her involvement in the alleged heist during her testimony before the Madlanga Commission.
She outlined how the stones were to be seized unlawfully from their owner.
Witness K was Mkhwanazi’s girlfriend at the time.

Mkhwanazi is no stranger to the courtroom or to applying for bail.
As other cases remain in the courts, another landed him back in the dock.
He is already out on bail on two separate cases.
Mkhwanazi has another matter in court alongside Ekurhuleni City Manager Kagiso Lerutla.
They face charges of fraud, corruption and defeating the ends of justice.
Mkhwanazi has another pending matter with a group of current and former municipal colleagues.
Earlier this month, he secured R50,000 bail in a fraud and corruption case involving former Municipal Manager Imogen Mashazi and two suspended senior officials.
