PRETORIA - Former Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula is expected to face tougher questions in court on Wednesday as her corruption trial continues.
The state has this week focused on her relationship with contractor Nombasa Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu and a series of payments allegedly linked to Mapisa-Nqakula’s former secretary.
Mapisa-Nqakula has admitted making several payments but told the court she cannot remember exactly what they were for.
The proceedings have also heard allegations that the former Speaker requested R150,000 from Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu.
According to the evidence before the court, the money was allegedly intended to find someone to care for Mapisa-Nqakula’s father.
