JOHANNESBURG - The Special Investigating Unit has welcomed the Special Tribunal's judgment dismissing former ANC national spokesperson Pule Mabe's attempts to stop proceedings against him.
Mabe sought to stop the SIU's civil recovery action until a High Court review and criminal proceedings were concluded.
In 2024, the Tribunal obtained an order to freeze Mabe's immovable property in Steyn City and luxury vehicles, including a Porsche 911 Carrera GTS.
The investigation found serious irregularities in the procurement of a tender awarded to Enviro Mobi.
It discovered that 90% of the money paid to the company was transferred into accounts Mabe controlled.
