JOHANNESBURG - A major legal showdown is unfolding at the Mpumalanga High Court over the R44-million estate of the late former deputy president David Mabuza.
The court must decide which of two women, who are both claiming to be his wife, will be legally recognised to inherit his fortune.
Emunah Silinda cites a long-standing customary union, while Nonhlahla Patience Mnisi presents a contested posthumous marriage certificate.
The matter is being heard at the High Court in Mpumalanga on Tuesday.
