PRETORIA - The Madlanga Commission is back in session, and some hearings will be held behind closed doors.
Media houses News24 and Daily Maverick are no longer opposing the private proceedings.
A new witness is set to testify, bringing more evidence of criminal networks and political interference in the SAPS.
Evidence leader Matthew Chaskalson says secrecy is necessary due to the sensitive nature of the testimony.
Justice Madlanga pointed out that new names are mentioned in the witness statement.
They will now also be invited to testify.
The commission has assured the media that no witness will be called in private without 72 hours notice.
