JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa demanded action to prevent delaying the Madlanga Commission when he was informed of a risk over the weekend.
Despite this, the inquiry into political interference in the police has announced that hearings will not begin on 1 September.
The commission says the setback is due to the Justice Department not procuring vital infrastructure in time.

The commission says it can't start hearings next week and a new date will be set.
Chairperson Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga made it clear that this is not of the commission's doing.
He is assuring South Africans that the commission is continuing its work.
eNCA has reached out to the Justice Department and will bring you its response as soon as we get it.
