PRETORIA - The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has confirmed that it will not recall Lieutenant-General Shadrack Sibiya for further oral evidence.
This was revealed by the commission on Tuesday.
The suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner for Crime Detection was heavily implicated by witnesses at the commission in wrongdoing of which he denied.

The commission is in its final week of hearings before it breaks from 18 May to focus on its second interim report, which will be delivered to President Cyril Ramaphosa on 29 May 2026.
This week, the commission continues to focus on drug seizures by South African law enforcement agencies, as well as the handling and theft or disappearance of narcotic substances in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
According to the commission's spokesperson, Jeremy Michaels, this is a continuation of the testimony of several witnesses last week, including the in-camera evidence of Witness H on Friday, 8 May 2026.
