PRETORIA - Major-General Nozipho Madondo said this is just the beginning. South Africans will see justice at work.
She was speaking outside the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Friday, where fraud and corruption charges against her, Crime Intelligence head Dumisani Khumalo and others were withdrawn.
"It is such a relief," she said. Madondo, along with Khumalo and Dineo Mokwele, have all thanked KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi for his bravery.

In a media briefing in July last year, he brought to light what had been happening at Crime Intelligence and investigations by the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC).
President Cyril Ramaphosa instituted the Madlanga Commission to look into Mkhwanazi's allegations.
"In as much as we are sad, what comforts us is that South Africans get to know what is really happening," she said.
Madondo said there is a lot of work that still needs to happen.
