JOHANNESBURG - The man implicated at the Madlanga Commission by the late Witness D has survived a hail of bullets.
Wiandre Pretorius was shot at 16 times in Boksburg on Thursday.

Pretorius was implicated at the Madlanga Commission by Marius van der Merwe, also known as Witness D.
Van der Merwe was shot outside of his home in Brakpan in December.

A Chevrolet, believed to be one of two vehicles used by his attackers, was found abandoned in Alexandra township. National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola says investigators have also identified three persons of interest and was being questioned.

At the Commission, Van der Merwe alleged that Pretorius would present himself as a police officer.
Gauteng Police Commissioner, Tommy Mthombeni has confirmed that he is not a member of the police.
The motive for the attempted assassination is not yet clear as investigations continue.
