Mantashe returns to eKapa mine for rescue mission update

KIMBERLEY - Mineral and Petroleum Resources Minister Gwede Mantashe will on Friday return to eKapa mine in Kimberley.

In his last visit, the minister received a detailed plan to locate five missing mineworkers.

The company has since applied for liquidation and shut down operations with immediate effect.

The rescue mission is still ongoing, although the miners are now presumed dead.

Mantashe is expected to receive an updated progress report on his latest visit.
